Yannick Bovy Celebrates 100 Years of Nat King Cole Album World Tour Live in Kuala Lumpur 2019

[Upcoming Event]    Growing up, Yannick Bovy used to be heavily influenced by his grandparents’ taste in music, which led to his love for Nat King Cole. In March 2019, the American Jazz Legend would have turned 100 and Bovy felt it was only natural to honour the founding father of silky ballads and catchy swing with fourteen covers, including ” The Soul of Nat King Cole “- written by Will Tura in his album, Yannick Bovy Celebrates 100 Years of Nat King Cole.   This 4 and 5 October 2019, Yannick Bovy will be bringing Nat King Cole’s music to … Continue reading Yannick Bovy Celebrates 100 Years of Nat King Cole Album World Tour Live in Kuala Lumpur 2019

EQ Kuala Lumpur (Hotel) at Equatorial Plaza

[Luxury Hotels]   When the original Hotel Equatorial opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur back in 1973, it was the talk of the town and quickly gained a reputation as a premier five-star destination. Fast forward to 2012 and the hotel was almost 40 years old was looking dated and thus the owners decided to close it for redevelopment. Well the redevelopment took almost seven years (takes time to safely knock down a building and construct an entirely new one!) and the new Equatorial Plaza reopened its doors (albeit a soft launch) on 1 March 2019. I happened to visit … Continue reading EQ Kuala Lumpur (Hotel) at Equatorial Plaza

Howard Park x Roost x Sunrise Wines & Spirits Wine Dinner

[Dining]   Ruby and I recently attended the Howard Park Wine Dinner at Roost in Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur which was organised by Sunrise Wines & Spirits – the official importer and distributor of the wines in Malaysia. The Howard Park story was borne out of the ambition to craft wine with generational cellaring potential. The first two wines were produced by its founder, John Wade, who left his prestigious posting in the Coonawarra after seeing enormous potential in the budding Great Southern wine region. He crafted a riesling and cabernet sauvignon to stand the test of time. His friend … Continue reading Howard Park x Roost x Sunrise Wines & Spirits Wine Dinner
