Chivas Whisky Lab, The Whisky Society 2016, Straits Wine Fiesta 2016

[Event] Chivas Whisky Lab   Pearl and I recently attended the Chivas Whisky Lab at HIDE at The Roof, Bandar Utama for a whisky masterclass that brought me back to my days in chemistry class. I was a science student back in secondary school as I wanted to join most of my classmates who mostly choose the science stream and I certainly had the PMR qualifications to do so. However in hindsight that proved to be quite a wrong decision as I was pretty terrible at Additional Maths, didn’t really like Biology and hated Physics class as the terms were … Continue reading Chivas Whisky Lab, The Whisky Society 2016, Straits Wine Fiesta 2016

Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve Launched in Malaysia

[Event]   MHB’s Esther Ng and I attended the launch of The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve in Malaysia on 7 November 2016. The new non age statement expression from Glenlivet is a new, permanent addition to the brand’s core range, featuring the classic fruity flavours of The Glenlivet, and a tribute to its founder George Smith’s original vision to craft the definitive, smooth single malt whisky. The Founder’s Reserve stays true to The Glenlivet’s heritage, and utilises the same distilling methods used in 1824, in unique, wide lantern-shaped copper stills created by Smith himself almost 200 years ago. For this new expression, Master Distiller Alan … Continue reading Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve Launched in Malaysia

Food Review – Supperclub KL @ TREC

[ADV]   The MHB girls and I headed over to Supperclub KL recently to try out their newly revamped menu. Supperclub is an upscale Gastrobar and Lounge, and was one of the first tenants in the Electric Boulevard or Phase 1 of TREC, which  is the country’s first and only purpose-built, urban F&B, lifestyle and commercial destination. After some months in operation, Supperclub noticed that TREC lacked a F&B establishment which offered diners a premium dining experience and thus engaged the services of an experienced international chef to revamp their menu to meet that need. We were very honoured to be one … Continue reading Food Review – Supperclub KL @ TREC

Review – Private Room and The Pawn Room TTDI

[Review]   TTDI has become quite the hub for an eclectic mix of food and beverage and night entertainment outlets in the Klang Valley. The good variety of restaurants featuring fare from different cultures attracts many diners to the suburb which is a far cry from the times when I used to live there (we used to only have a KFC, Pizza Hut, couple of Chinese coffeeshops and some Indian mamaks). Among the notable ones is the cat cafe, a bicycle themed cafe, a cafe selling salted egg cronuts, a Chinese Muslim restaurant, and a new speakeasy bar called The … Continue reading Review – Private Room and The Pawn Room TTDI
