Editor’s Note – October 2018

[Editor’s Note] Weekend Buffet High Tea at Taman Sari, Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur    Joanne and I recently headed over to Taman Sari (which in the Malay language means Garden of Flowers) which is Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur’s 220-seater all-day Halal dining restaurant with Malaysian flavours. The restaurant is bright and welcoming with filtered natural lighting by day, and overlooks a beautifully landscaped garden (which BTW is great for photos!) and the hotel’s swimming pool. Taman Sari serves both local and western dishes that appeal to both international palates and those of local guests. We were there to try the Buffet … Continue reading Editor’s Note – October 2018

Raventós Wine Pairing Dinner at BABE – Japas Fun Dining

[Luxury Dining]   Joanne and I recently attended the RAVENTOS i BLANC wine pairing dinner on 23 May 2018 at BABE – Japas Fun Dining in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur. The Raventós family has lived on their estate in Barcelona, Spain since 1497. Over the years, twenty-one generations have worked this land, which comprises 90 hectares of vines, forest and lake, with a specific microclimate influenced by the river, a lake, two streams and a hill known as the Turó del Serral. Marques de Vargas Wine Dinner at The Press Room Bistro Pavilion

[Event]    Headed over to The Pressroom in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur recently for the Marques de Vargas x Iconic Wines pairing dinner. Since then, four generations of this family lineage have cultivated the vineyards on this estate. Today, Bodegas y Viñedos del Marqués de Vargas has … Continue reading Marques de Vargas Wine Dinner at The Press Room Bistro Pavilion

Delia Wines Gourmet Dinner at The Chalet Suisse

[Event]   Pearl and I recently headed over to Chalet Suisse in Ampang for the Delia Wines x Chalet Suisse wine pairing dinner. Now Ampang is not one of my favourite places to go to due to the distance from my home in Petaling Jaya but the prospect of some good wines and food certainly made the trip seem worthwhile so over we went. Delia Wines is an importer of wines from France and beyond, as well as also being the producer of Champagne Laurent Robert in France, while Chalet Suisse is an authentic Swiss restaurant located in Little Korea … Continue reading Delia Wines Gourmet Dinner at The Chalet Suisse
