Food Review – Supperclub KL @ TREC

[ADV]   The MHB girls and I headed over to Supperclub KL recently to try out their newly revamped menu. Supperclub is an upscale Gastrobar and Lounge, and was one of the first tenants in the Electric Boulevard or Phase 1 of TREC, which  is the country’s first and only purpose-built, urban F&B, lifestyle and commercial destination. After some months in operation, Supperclub noticed that TREC lacked a F&B establishment which offered diners a premium dining experience and thus engaged the services of an experienced international chef to revamp their menu to meet that need. We were very honoured to be one … Continue reading Food Review – Supperclub KL @ TREC

[MIGF Special Feature]   Savini Ristorante Italiano is one of Kuala Lumpur’s hidden gems – tucked away in a corner of The Intermark along Jalan Tun Razak in downtown Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant is well-known among the city’s elite with many VIPs and captains of industry dining discretely in their multiple private rooms. For this year’s Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival menu, the culinary team which is led by the very experienced Chef Azizan Shukri has come up with two (2) menus; namely the full menu and a light menu for the festival.   Starting off our dinner with the welcome … Continue reading Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival (MIGF) 2016 – Savini Ristorante Italiano & Lounge

Review – Private Room and The Pawn Room TTDI

[Review]   TTDI has become quite the hub for an eclectic mix of food and beverage and night entertainment outlets in the Klang Valley. The good variety of restaurants featuring fare from different cultures attracts many diners to the suburb which is a far cry from the times when I used to live there (we used to only have a KFC, Pizza Hut, couple of Chinese coffeeshops and some Indian mamaks). Among the notable ones is the cat cafe, a bicycle themed cafe, a cafe selling salted egg cronuts, a Chinese Muslim restaurant, and a new speakeasy bar called The … Continue reading Review – Private Room and The Pawn Room TTDI

Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival 2016 – Pampas at Old Malaya

[MIGF Special Feature]   I really enjoy a good steak however the number of good steakhouses in the Klang Valley are pretty limited. Most places will just overcook my steak even though I tell them MEDIUM RARE. And there’s no way to undo an overcooked steak therefore sometimes if it comes medium or medium well I would just bite the bullet and eat it. During the recent Taste MIGF at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, I did manage to check out the Pampas at Old Malaya booth however as I was busy judging various categories, I didn’t have time to try … Continue reading Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival 2016 – Pampas at Old Malaya

Healthy Eats – Chopstick Diner & The Magnificent Seven Movie Review

[Review]   If you’re a regular reader of this site, you’d notice that I mostly do premium to high-end establishments. While the food is pretty awesome most of the time, the inclusion of a lot of rather fattening ingredients such as cream and foie gras. While they are certainly delicious, they are not the most healthy ingredients around therefore I decided to try something different for a change. Hence I decided to contact the folks from http://www.chockstickdiner.com who very generously delivered a whole bunch of healthy lunch boxes for me to try. Chockstickdiner is an online delivery service delivering healthy … Continue reading Healthy Eats – Chopstick Diner & The Magnificent Seven Movie Review

Launch of Tinto Wine & Tapas Bar, Desa Sri Hartamas

[Event]   Lissa, Elaine and I headed over to Tinto wine and tapas bar in the bustling Desa Sri Hartamas recently for their official launch. Tinto is a bespoke Spanish Wine Bar, a contrast to the speakeasy bars mushrooming all over Kuala Lumpur, and bringing consumers the romance of old world wines. Tinto, which is the Spanish word for ‘Red Wine’ and the bar certainly has many variants of it, as well as white wines and champagnes in their cellar. The bar is located on the first floor of a Desa Sri Hartamas shoplot, and to locate it you need to … Continue reading Launch of Tinto Wine & Tapas Bar, Desa Sri Hartamas
